3/3/22 WIAA Division 5 Basketball Sectional Semi-Final: (1) McDonell Lady Macks 62, (2) Prairie Farm 52

In a rematch of last year's Sectional Final, the Lady Macks (24-3, 12-2 Western Cloverbelt Conference) got off to a hot start before the Panthers (21-6, 13-1 Lakeland - East) battled back to within 7 points by halftime.

McDonell stretched their advantage to double-digits in the second half, only to see their lead whittled down to a single possession as Prairie Farm made a run. In the game's most crucial stages, multiple Lady Macks players stepped up as they earned a berth in their second consecutive Sectional Final.

Senior guard Lauryn Deetz sparked the McDonell offense with 15 first-half points, and nailed clutch free throws down the stretch to finish with a game-high 20. Fellow senior guard Destiny Baughman played lockdown defense and also contributed double-digit points with 11, while sophomore forward Aubrey Dorn made several key plays down the stretch, scoring eight of her 10 points in the second half.
