On the heels of their first conference loss since January 2022, the Lady Macks (20-2, 12-1 Western Cloverbelt Conference) headed down the road to face the Ramblers (16-5, 9-4 WCC), who were short a starter but still looking to pull an upset and improve their playoff seeding.
McDonell went back and forth with Regis through much of the first half, as the Ramblers' hot outside shooting kept the game close. In the second half, however, the Lady Macks slowly and steadily pulled away, as they swept the season series against Regis and also put themselves in prime position for a second straight conference title.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Freshman guard EllaMay Cooper was lights out in each half, pouring in a career-high 25 points to lead the way for McDonell. Senior center Aubrey Dorn controlled the glass, hit a three, and finished with 12 points, while senior point guard Emily Cooper, despite being a focal point of the Regis defense, played a highly efficient game and scored 12 as well.
