In a rematch of one of the conference's most anticipated showdowns this season, the Lady Macks (18-4, 14-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) went back and forth early with the Hornets (18-5, 11-3 WCC), but slowly began to press their advantage as the half drew to a close, holding the home team to just 13 points before the break.
Picking up where they left off, McDonell steadily pulled away from Cadott in the second, eventually cruising to another impressive win over the senior-laden Hornets, and underscoring their program's first ever Western Cloverbelt title with a perfect conference record.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior center Aubrey Dorn was an almost unstoppable force, particularly in the second half, as she scored a team-high 20 points. Junior guard Emily Cooper nailed a trio of treys and had 15, while senior guard/forward Marley Hughes battled foul trouble but still played a strong game on both ends of the floor, finishing with seven points.
