With two out in the top of the 2nd inning Chippewa Falls(21-6) scored five runs on seven straight singles from Lauren Shepherd, Mykle Buhrow, Olivia Sanborn, Makenna Johnston, Paige Steinmetz, Madyson Baker, and Madisyn Bauer in grabbing a 5-0 lead, but Stevens Point(18-10) answered with three runs in the bottom of the 2nd and tied up the game with two more runs in the 3rd. The Cards again took the lead scoring three runs in the 5th inning knocked in on singles by Buhrow and Sanborn, but the Panthers responded in the bottom of the frame with three more runs to tie the game at 8.
In the bottom of the 7th, with the bases loaded and two outs, Point's third baseman, Riley Pechinski, hit a single over the head of Cardinals shortstop, Makenna Johnston, knocking in the winning run and giving the Panthers a 9-8 win.
