In one of the state's longest-running rivalries, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (3-0, 1-0 Big Rivers Conference) host Menomonie the conference opener, on a beautiful Veterans Night at Dorais Field.
The Mustangs (0-3, 0-1 BRC) moved the ball early, but hurt themselves with penalties and turnovers, before punching in a score as the clock expired to end the first half.
That would prove to be the only points of the night for the visitors, however, as the Cardinals' defense completely stifled the ground game and the Chi-Hi offense found its groove.
Senior Tyler Behnke tallied a hat trick of TDs on the night from the fullback position, also easily eclipsing the century mark in rushing yards.
