In a critical game in the conference standings, the Lady Macks (14-3, 10-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) went back and forth in the first half with the Thunder (10-7, 6-4 WCC), an experienced team laden with seniors.
After halftime, McDonell's defense began to create significant separation and it looked like they would run away with the game, but the veteran Thunder squad got hot down the stretch and made the Lady Macks execute in the final minutes to secure their tenth conference win.
On Senior Night, the Macks (16-1, 7-1 Western Cloverbelt Conference) got off to a bit of a slow start against the Norse (10-4, 7-0 Dairyland - Large), who came out of the gate hot and scored the first 10 points of the contest.
From that point on, however, McDonell went on a run, running off the next 12 points and carrying a double-digit lead into the break, which they would later stretch to 20. A veteran Whitehall squad whittled the deficit down considerably, but timely shooting by the Macks carried them to a hard-fought non-conference victory.
