On the road once again, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (8-3, 5-2 Big Rivers Conference) found themselves matched up against the perennial powerhouse of the Papermakers(11-0, 7-0 Fox Valley Association), the state's #2 ranked team.
After two early scores by Kimberly, the Chi-Hi defense battled back, forcing punts and three interceptions, but the Papermakers defense proved up to the challenge as well, and was able to stymie the Cards comeback attempt in the second half.

Senior DB Gavin Goodman was a human highlight reel once again, laying out for a first half interception and notching a second pick in the end zone to stop a Kimberly drive. Perhaps his greatest play, however, was an 80-yard kickoff return touchdown in which he maintained his balance after an apparent tackle, somehow stayed on his feet, and sprinted down the sideline for the Cards first score of the night.
