Playing Neillsville for the second time this season, and in a rematch of last year's Cloverbelt Crossover 1st place game, the Lady Macks (22-2, 13-1 Western Cloverbelt Conference) came out hot against the state-ranked Warriors (20-4, 14-0 Eastern Cloverbelt Conference), scoring the game's first 11 points.
Neillsville made a brief run after McDonell's hot start, but the Lady Macks' relentless defense was a constant throughout the game, as they rolled to a twenty-point victory, claiming the Crossover championship and vaulting themselves toward the postseason.
McDonell was also impressive after the game, as conference awards were announced. All five Lady Macks starters received all-conference recognition: Emily Cooper, Aubrey Dorn, and EllaMay Cooper earned first-team all conference honors, and Isabel Hartman and Kali Goulet were named Honorable Mention all-conference. And for back-to-back years, Emily Cooper was recognized as the Western Cloverbelt Conference Player of the Year.
