On their home field and looking to split the season series and avenge a one-run loss earlier, the Lady Macks (6-4, 4-3 Western Cloverbelt Conference) gave up two early runs to the Crickets (12-4, 7-0 WCC), but battled back with a run of their own in the bottom of the first.
After that, however, Fall Creek steadily pulled away, continually loading the bases and putting pressure on the McDonell defense. A late comeback bid by the Lady Macks fell short, as they continued into a stretch of four games in three days.
Sophomore Rylie Christianson was 2-3 on the day, including a first inning triple, and fellow sophomore Claire Ruf contributed a big 2 RBI double late in the game.
