Kayla Konwent was the first University of Wisconsin Badgers softball player in the history of the program to be named a unanimous first team All American. The 2019 Big Ten player of the year decided to retire after the Corona virus retired her team's season this year after just 24 games. Kayla joins Greg on Sports and Commentary to talk about the Badgers shortened season, her incredible career and her faith. Part 3 of a 4 part series.

9/18/20 "Friday Night Nostalgia!" Week 5: Chi-Hi vs Menomonie, November 6, 2015

 As we wait for live games to resume, WOGO brings you classic high school football action each week, with our "Friday Night Nostalgia" series on 103.1FM and WOGO.com!

For the first time ever, we will re-air some of the most memorable Chi-Hi and McDonell football games from days gone by!

Week 5: we travel back in time to November 6, 2015, as the Chippewa Falls Cardinals hosted Menomonie in a Level 3 playoff game, with a crowd of over 5,000 on hand.
The Mustangs were the only team to beat the Cards in the regular season, a heartbreaking overtime loss at Dorais the week before Chi-Hi claimed the conference title in an epic comeback at Rice Lake.

One of the greatest days in the life of Kansas City Royals Left Handed Pitcher Foster Griffin turned into a nightmare when the former first round draft pick hurt his arm in his MLB debut a few weeks ago. Griffin would win the game but lose his season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. The Orlando Florida native joins Greg on Sports and Commentary to talk about that bitter/sweet day in Detroit and how his faith in Jesus Christ is giving him the strength to attempt the come back. Part 3 of a 3 part series.

Week 4: we travel back in time to October 28, 2006, as the Chippewa Falls Cardinals headed south to face Verona in a Level 2 playoff game. Verona came into the contest with a perfect 10-0 record on the season and was ranked the number one team in the state.

The budget crunch is due to the Covid 19 pandemic eliminating the football season. One of those sports cut is men's tennis, a program that was ranked 20th in the nation when college sports were shut down in March.  Hawkeyes Redshirt Senior tennis player Jason Kerst joins Greg on Sports and Commentary to visit about the heartbreaking end of his program in Iowa City and how his faith in Jesus gives him purpose and perspective going forward. Part 2 of a 2 part series.
