3/28/25 Softball: McDonell Lady Macks 9, Altoona 8 (8 innings)

On the road in their season opener, the Lady Macks (1-0, 0-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference)  (1-1, 0-0 Middle Border Conference), fell behind early, but settled in to the contest as they went back and forth with the Railroaders, the teams combining for four lead changes in the first five innings.

A seventh inning rally by the home team sent the game to extras, and in their half of the eighth the Lady Macks responded offensively once again, plating two runs. Though Altoona added a run of their own in the bottom of the inning, sophomore pitcher Kelsey Bremness struck out the final two batters to give McDonell their first win of the season.

Sophomore center fielder/pitcher Rylie Christianson tallied three hits, while fellow sophomore Claire Ruf was 4-5 on the night, and sophomore catcher Liz Leibrandt led the team with three RBIs.
