4/26/24 Softball(2): Chippewa Falls-8, 10 Superior-6, 3
The Cardinals(14-1, 7-1) swept Superior(5-3) 8-6 and 10-3 in a non-conference doubleheader on a blustery, cold afternoon at Casper park.
After falling behind 6-3 in game one a Paige Steinmetz, 3rd inning, solo homer brought them to 6-4, and they added another run in the 4th making it 6-5. The Cards closed out the scoring with three in the 5th. Sophomore Willa Risinger pitched the complete game for the win.
In the nightcap the Cards exploded for five runs in both the 1st and 7th innings on their way to a 10-3 victory. Three homers in this contest helped propel CF to the victory: a 2-run HR by Lauren Shepherd in the 1st, a 3-run blast from Ali Geist in the 7th, and a solo shot right after that by Mc Kenna Bauer to close the scoring for the day.
4/26/24 Baseball: Chippewa Falls-1 Rice Lake-0
A Lucas Logslett 2nd inning solo homer was all the offense the Cards(6-4, 4-2) needed to win their second game over Rice Lake(3-7, 1-5) this week, 1-0.
In getting the win Jake Lequia escaped bases loaded jams in the third and fourth innings in shutting out the Warriors. He struck out five and walked two, plus hit a batter, in his six-plus innings before giving way to Brady Smith in the 7th. Smith and the Cardinals D held the shut out as the sophomore earned the save.

4/23/24 Baseball: Bloomer 7, McDonell Macks 2
Back at Casper Park, the Macks (3-5, 1-5 Western Cloverbelt Conference) gave up five early runs to the veteran Blackhawks (6-2, 3-1 WCC), who came out of the gate strong, led by their junior pitcher, Collin Crane.
McDonell settled in on defense afterward, as junior pitcher Cooper Mittermeyer put up six innings of work, striking out half a dozen Bloomer batters.
The hits were hard to come by for the Macks against Crane, who struck out 10 on the evening, but McDonell was able to come within three runs after five, before one more late surge by the Blackhawks put the game out of reach.

4/13/24 Softball(2): Chippewa Falls-19,15 Marshfield-1,2
Chippewa Falls (6-0, 4-0) continued their torrid hitting, sweeping Marshfield (3-4, 1-0) in a doubleheader at Casper Park: 19-1(5 inn.) and 15-2 (6 inn.). On the day the Cards scored in nine of their ten innings at the plate, only failing to do so in the fourth inning of the second game.
Chi-Hi got four innings of solid pitching from freshman Violet McIlquham in game one as fellow freshman, Delany Bero, secured the win by pitching the fifth. Meanwhile in game two senior Lakken McEathron made her season debut by pitching four innings of shutout ball before giving way to junior, Delany Berg, for the final two innings.
The Cardinals lead-off hitter, shortstop Kenna Johnston, topped a ton of great hitting performances, going 7-9 on the day with three doubles, four singles, four runs scored and two RBIs, while catcher, Lauren Shepherd, had three hits including a homer and five RBIs in game one, and center fielder, Paige Steinmetz, hit a grand slam in the nightcap.

4/12/24 Baseball: Eau Claire Regis 7, McDonell Macks 2
Playing Regis for the second straight night, this time in their home opener, the Macks (2-2, 0-2 Western Cloverbelt Conference) fell behind by an early run to the Rambers (2-3, 2-0 WCC) but quickly came back to tie the game after one.
Regis was simply not to be denied at the plate however, as they smashed seven doubles while riding a strong pitching performance from freshman Chase Brogelman.
The Macks mounted a significant bases-loaded threat in the bottom of the sixth but only managed to put one run across, and afterward a two-out, bases-loaded triple in the seventh helped the Ramblers put the game out of reach.
