10/6/23 Football: Chi-Hi 40, Eau Claire Memorial 22

In their final home game of the season, needing a win to keep postseason hopes alive, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (3-5, 2-4 Big Rivers Conference) struck first with an early touchdown, but the Old Abes (2-6, 1-5 BRC) returned the ensuing kickoff for a score, then notched a two-point conversion to take an 8-7 lead.

That would prove to be the only lead Memorial held all night, however, as Chi-Hi scored the next 18 points to take a 25-8 advantage into the locker room. The second half saw early momentum swing the way of the Abes, but Chi-Hi answered with a touchdown drive to the put the game away and end the 2023 home slate on a high note.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior QB Mason Von Haden rushed for two scores and passed for another, while senior DB Jack Zwiefelhofer took an interception 50 yards to the house, his third pick six of the season.
