Looking to rebound from their first conference loss but facing an unbeaten opponent, the Lady Macks (5-2, 3-1 Western Cloverbelt Conference) found it tough going early on against the young and talented Lady Wildcats (7-1, 5-0 Large Dairyland Conference), but fought back from an eight-point deficit to knot the game at the half.
After the break the teams traded leads, but McDonell went on a 21-6 run down the stretch to seal the deal and gain a quality Division 5 win.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior guard Anna Geissler and junior guard Lauryn Deetz led the way with 18 points apiece. Deetz did her damage primarily from the free throw line and scored 12 in the first half, while Geissler poured in 15 points after the break.
