3/6/22 Chippewa Valley This Week: Cancer Doesn't Stand a Chance Fundraiser

             Chippewa Valley This Week

 The Longanecker family                                   weau.com

First, we hear from one of three Eau Claire School Board Candidates who issued a Joint media statement this week saying they're "appalled" by the wording in a slide used during a Feb. 25th teacher training saying "parents are not entitled to know their kids' identities. That knowledge must be earned." We hear from candidate Nicole Everson, who was also joined in the statement by candidates Cory Cronrath and Melissa Winter. We also hear from Eau Claire School Board President, Tim Nordin, who's also on the April 5th ballot, as well as a summary from Eau Claire School Superintendent, Michael Johnson.
Also, Lezlie Longanecker of Elk Mound, tells us about the tremendous community support that's led to the fundraiser, "Cancer Doesn't Stand a Chance," on behalf of her family as her 16 year old son, Chance, fights a rare form of  aggressive bone cancer he's been diagnosed with.
