Back at State for the first time since 2014, the Macks (9-11, 4-8 Western Cloverbelt Conference) tallied two runs in the bottom of the first against the top team in the state, the Vikings (24-1 10-1 Six Rivers East Conference), before a tough third inning put Pecatonica well out in front.
Then, in a see-saw affair, McDonell fought their way back to a tie, only to give up a go-ahead run in the sxith. The bottom of the seventh saw the Macks bring the winning run to the plate with the tying run in scoring position, but they were unable to complete the comeback as their phenomenal season came to an end at Fox Cities Stadium.
Thank you to Coach Smith and McDonell for letting us experience the State Tournament with you, and seniors, it was our true joy to see you play one last time!

Back at State for the first time since 2018, the Lady Macks (19-7, 11-3 Western Cloverbelt Conference) came out on fire, tallying four runs in the top of the first against the top team in the state, the Cardinals (27-1-1, 12-0 Central Wisconsin South Conference).
Momentum shifted back and forth throughout, but McDonell entered the bottom of the seventh with that same four-run advantage. But in a fateful final half-inning that saw them down to their final strike on two occasions, Pacelli plated four runs to tie the game, then won it in walk-off fashion, ending the Lady Macks' season in heartbreak at Goodman Diamond.
Thank you to Coach Baier and McDonell for letting us enjoy this incredible playoff run along with them, you mean the world to us!

Back in a Sectional Final after a one year hiatus, the Lady Macks (19-6, 11-3 Western Cloverbelt Conference) stranded two early baserunners for the Fusion (14-4, 8-0 East Lakeland Conference), then once again gave their pitcher some early support, plating a run in the bottom of the first.
That run would prove to be all they needed, as McDonell rode another dominant pitching performance and backed it up with three additional runs in the second, another in the third, and three more in the bottom of the sixth to put the game thoroughly out of reach and punch their ticket back to the State Tournament in Madison.
Sophomore leadoff hitter Kendall Hepfler was 3-4 with a pair of doubles, two stolen bases, an RBI, and three runs scored, while senior Becca Baier drove in two and multiple Lady Macks (Josie Witkowski, Katie Ruf, Keagan Winger, and Abby Bresina) all recorded doubles.
In the circle, junior pitcher Katie Ruf allowed just one hit and struck out 10 as she recorded her third consecutive shutout.
