12/29/22 Basketball: McDonell Macks 93, Chequamegon 51

In the finale of the first annual Denny Laramy Holiday Classic, the Macks (10-0, 2-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) faced a physically imposing team in the Screaming Eagles (4-6, 2-4 Marawood North Conference), but came out of the gate with fire and passion on each end of the floor, pouring in 51 points before halftime and leaving their opponent reeling.

In the second half the Macks continued their momentum, and, thanks to a record-setting performance, put forth their highest offensive output of the year as they rolled to a running clock and their tenth straight win.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior guard/forward Canan Huss scored 15 of his 22 points in the first half, but his stellar performance may have been slightly overshadowed: on Coach Adam Schilling's birthday, fellow senior Eddie Mittermeyer played the game of his life, hitting an awe-inspiring 13 threes and finishing with a sensational 52 points!

12/29/22 Basketball: McDonell Lady Macks 79, Luck 13

On the final day of the Denny Laramy Holiday Classic, the Lady Macks (7-3, 5-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) looked to bounce back from a tight loss the night before as they faced the Cardinals (1-6, 1-2 West Lakeland Conference).

Right out of the gate, McDonell dominated both ends of the floor as they exploded to a 43-6 halftime advantage, never looking back and forcing a running clock. 11 players scored for the Lady Macks as they ended 2022 on an emphatically high note.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior forward Aubrey Dorn notched a game-high 17 points for the second consecutive night, with her frontcourt mate, sophomore Sophie Schmidgall, right behind with 14. Junior guard Emily Cooper tallied 12, and senior guard/forward Marley Hughes added 11 as four Lady Macks finished in double figures.
