At home in their first game in 2018, Chi-Hi (6-4, 4-0 Big Rivers Conference) went back and forth all first half long against the Holmen Vikings (7-3, 3-1 Mississippi Valley Conference), trading buckets and lead changes, until Chi Hi held a one point advantage at the half by a score of 36-35. The Lady Cards built a lead throughout much of the second half, eventually enjoying as much as a 16 point advantage, but Holmen made their run at the Cards, cutting it to just a 3 point game with a minute to play. Clutch free throw shooting and defense made the difference for Chi Hi as they sealed a 6 point win.
It was a key victory for Chippewa against a tough non-conference opponent, and snapped a two game losing streak for the Cardinals.
