On the road once again and back in action two days after suffering their first loss of the season, the Macks (13-1, 5-1 Western Cloverbelt Conference) scored the first 8 points of the game, but the Blackhawks (7-3, 4-2 WCC) fought back furiously and took a 7 point lead into the locker room.
In the second half, McDonell slowly but surely clawed their way within one possession before a slew of ties and lead changes in the final minutes that eventually led to overtime. In the extra period, the Macks used timely shooting and forced key turnovers to edge Bloomer and regain the top spot in the conference.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior forward Canan Huss had a brilliant second half, tallying 18 of his team-high 25 points, while senior guard Aidan Misfeldt showed off the ice in his veins, hitting crucial shots down the stretch and ending the game at the free throw line with his 17th and 18th points.
