2/25/23 WIAA Division 5 Basketball Regional Final: (2) McDonell Lady Macks 61, (3) Turtle Lake 44

On a quest for their third consecutive regional title, the second-seeded Lady Macks (22-5, 14-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) traded a few early blows with the Lakers (21-5, 17-1 Lakeland - West Conference), but steadily extended their advantage to as many as 15, before a late Turtle Lake surge cut the deficit to nine by the break.

In the second half, McDonell got a huge offensive spark from Emily Cooper, who scored 11 of their first 13 points after halftime. As a team, the Lady Macks' relentless effort defensively prevented Turtle Lake from ever mounting a serious threat to the lead, and McDonell once again cut down the nets in their final home game of the season.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior guard Emily Cooper splashed five threes as she poured in a game-high 25, while junior center Aubrey Dorn contributed 13 in another strong effort, and senior guard/forward Marley Hughes added eight while patrolling both ends of the floor.
