3/12/20 WIAA Division 5 Basketball Sectional Semi-Final: (2) McDonell Macks 47, (1) Thorp 35

In what would prove to be their final game of the season, a Sectional Semi-Final in the WIAA Division 5 tournament, the Macks (19-7, 9-5 Western Cloverbelt Conference) came out strong against the Cardinals (19-6, 11-3 WCC) in the rubber match between the two conference opponents.

After a back-and-forth first half, McDonell stretched their advantage to seven at the break, then propelled themselves toward victory with a 5-0 run to start the second.


WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior center Eion Kressin was absolutely dominant, scoring a game-high 21 points, while junior Logan Hughes scored 9 critical points all in the second half.

 Covid-19 protection--Dr. Tom Russo, professor of medicine at the Univ. of Buffalo, says the homeless are more likely to contract the virus as they have less access to hygiene products and clean water; John Vander Meer, CEO of the WI Health Care Association and WI Center for Assisted Living and Janet Zander, public policy coordinator for the Greater WI Agency on Aging Resources, comment on a new report saying WI's shortage of caregivers at nursing homes and assisted-living facilities is getting worse; Tara Smith talks about the new and growing "Singles of the Valley" for singles 35 and older; Bob Adams of Adams Automotive talks about a March 21st fundraiser for an employee whose husband is fighting tongue cancer.
