For 12 years Wiley Petersen took life by the horns as a very successful professional bull rider on the PBR circuit. Then when he got tired of the aches and pains of trying to harness a 2 ton bull he went an entirely different direction becoming a Physician's Assistant. 9/27/19 Football: Phillips 52-McDonell 18

McDonell played host to undefeated Phillips, and trailed just 14-6 early in the 2nd quarter before two quick touchdowns for Phillips put the game far out of reach on their way to 30 points in the 2nd quarter to put the game out of reach by halftime.

9/22/19--Chippewa Valley This Week: Providing Help and Hope for Domestic Violence Survivors


Looking ahead to October's "Domestic Violence Awareness Month," and the alarming fact that  one in four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime, Allstate's Caitlin Canon brings us up to speed on the Unique Boutique Trunk Show coming up Oct. 12th from 10am-6pm at Mood Boutique, 230 Main St. East in Menomonie. Plus, Caitlin fills us in on the Benefit for the Bridge to Hope and the Donation Drive for the Purple Purse, which seeks to create long-term safety and security for survivors of domestic violence through financial empowerment.  In advance of the event, our WWIB/WOGO studios are a drop off location, as folks are encouraged to bring in gently used purses, backpacks, and suitcases.

9/20/19 Football: Eau Claire Memorial 33, Chi-Hi 21

In a rematch of the state's second-highest scoring game last season, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (1-4, 1-2 Big Rivers Conference) stood toe-to-toe in the first half with the experienced Old Abes, (4-1, 2-1 BRC), but fell victim to turnovers after the break.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior RB Ben Steinmetz delivered an electrifying performance, scoring on the ground from 41 yards out in the first half, and adding a 67 yard reception TD in the second.
