The Chippewa Falls Cardinals (3-1, 2-0 Big Rivers Conference) gave up the first score of the game before ripping off 42 unanswered against the Old Abes (2-2, 0-2 BRC). The Cards once again looked solid in all three phases, with standout contributions from a number of young players and veterans.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch: Junior Codie Meinen ripped off runs of 50 and 66 yards, junior Matt Bruder scored twice, sophomore Matt Pomietlo had another strong game, especially in short yardage, senior Jordan Steinmetz came through with a momentum-swinging pick six, and fellow senior Evan Spaeth recorded his second straight game with an interception.
Defensive leaders Cale Hannusch, Simon Martineau, and Jared Woodhull continued their impressive play as well.
