12/23/18 Chippewa Valley This Week: Controversial Placement of Sex Offender in Rural Dunn County

Chippewa Valley This Week

This past Thursday, Dec. 20th, 33 year old, Jamie Stephenson was released to live in the rural Dunn county township of Otter Creek, near Wheeler. Stephenson was three times previously convicted of sexual assault in 2004, 2006, and 2009. His placement in this location raised the concern of area residents, including Kelly Hayes and her husband, Cecil Hayes. In addition to hearing from them, Dunn County Sheriff, Dennis Smith, also tells us the state is exploring placing a second sex offender at the same residence at some point in the future.

12/22/18 Basketball: McDonell Macks 75, Turtle Lake 45

In their final game of 2018, the Macks (5-4, 2-2 Western Cloverbelt Conference) withstood an early run of three-pointers by the youthful and talented Lakers (4-5, 1-1 Central Lakeland), before stretching their advantage to 13 at the break and running away with the contest in the second half. In all, every active McDonell player saw the floor and 11 scored.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior center Eion Kressin had his best offensive game of the season with 16 points, while senior Charlie Bleskachek tallied the same in another strong effort.
