2/21/22 Basketball: McDonell Macks 64, Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran 46

In their final home game of the regular season, the Macks (11-12, 7-7 Western Cloverbelt Conference) faced a fellow Division 5 team in the hot-shooting Lancers (14-7, 11-3 Small Dairyland), who were coming off a conference title.

McDonell's intensity on both ends of the floor was on full display as they flexed their strength in the paint and matched Immanuel's outside shooting with their own, jumping out to a 19-point halftime advantage and holding the Lancers at arms-length for the remainder of the game.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
On Senior Night in Chippewa Falls, McDonell's lone senior, center Joe Janus, was dominant from the opening tip, pouring in a game-high 22 points. Talented junior forward Canan Huss matched that with 22 of his own, while junior sharpshooter Eddie Mittermeyer canned four threes and finished with 18.

2/20/22 Chippewa Valley This Week: Tandem Mentorship Program

           Chippewa Valley This Week

Relationship Director, Ashley Stoll, fills us in on the Tandem Mentorship Program(Tandem), founded in 2016 in Eau Claire by the ministry of 513FREE, a non-profit organization. Through this organization there was a committee appointed to create Tandem. There was a common belief between the committee and 513FREE that many youths in the community were experiencing adversity. They saw the need of Christ-centered and caring adults to walk alongside these youths.
In March 2018, Tandem became its own entity and changed the name to Tandem Mentorship Program. There was a board that was established in July 2018 to continue to carry out the Tandem vision of providing mentoring services. As of September 2018, Tandem received its 501(c)3 non-profit status, which serves the same goal of mentoring youth 11-18, with the hope to serve younger youth in the future.
