8/19/21 Football: Chi-Hi 40, Holmen 0

Back in front of their hometown fans for the first time in a long time, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (1-0, 0-0 Big Rivers Conference) got an opening drive stop against the Vikings (0-1, 0-0 Mississippi Valley Conference), blocked the ensuing punt, recovered it for a touchdown, and never looked back as they filed impressive performances in all three phases in the season opener.

Chi-Hi built a running clock lead late in the third, and were able to garner a quality non-conference win to start their year off on the right note!

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior RB Karson Bowe made multiple plays on offense and found the end zone on the ground and through the air, while junior Mason Howard was explosive throughout, scoring on both offense and special teams. Senior QB Brayden Warwick was incredibly efficient passing the ball, and multiple defenders, including seniors Owen Krista and Elijah Hable, helped the Cards pitch a shutout in their home opener.
