9/13/19 Football: Chi-Hi 16, Rice Lake 12

In a battle of young and hungry teams looking for their first win of 2019, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (1-3, 1-1 Big Rivers Conference) overcame adversity with a standout defensive effort, then withstood a late challenge from the Warriors (0-4, 0-2 BRC) to pick up a crucial conference victory on the road.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Sophomore Owen Krista and senior Tanner Whelan were standouts on the defensive side of the ball as the Cards forced several turnovers on downs and clinched the game late with a safety.
Offensively, senior Tyler Bohland and junior Ben Steinmetz led the way with strong nights on the ground.

In the home and conference opener at Dorais Field, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (0-3, 0-1 Big Rivers Conference) put forth a competitive effort against the more experienced Mustangs (3-0, 1-0 BRC), but were hurt by several key miscues.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior QB Hayden Goodman put his poise and athleticism on display throughout the night, even in broken play situations, while junior RB Ben Steinmetz provided offensive excitement with two touchdown runs.

Wisconsin Congressman, Sean Duffy(R-Weston), announces he's resigning effective Sept. 23rd, from his 7th Congressional District seat. Duffy and his wife, Rachel, appeared on Fox to discuss his decision to step down as the couple awaits the birth of their ninth child, a little girl with a heart defect. Speculation abounds as to who may pursue the seat in a special election to be called by Gov. Evers. Meanwhile, we also feature the conversation Caleb Svendsen and Mark Halvorsen had with APPLE pregnancy care center Director, Melinda Gardner, about their upcoming annual "Walk for Life" on Sept. 14th at Owen Park in Eau Claire.

8/30/19 Football: Cadott 29, Altoona 14

Amidst the grand opening excitement of the new OakLeaf Stadium, the Altoona Railroaders (0-2, 0-2 Cloverbelt Conference) overcame an early fumble that led to a touchdown for the Hornets (1-1, 1-1 Cloverbelt), to take a halftime lead. Both teams traded offensive punches in the third quarter, but Cadott proved stronger down the stretch and spoiled the Rails' home opener.
