2/13/23 Basketball: McDonell Lady Macks 61, Phillips 45

Back on their home floor against a Division 4 sectional finalist from last season and a D4 #1 seed this year, the Lady Macks (19-4, 14-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) went toe to toe with the Loggers (19-3, 12-2 Marawood North), and steadily built up a 13-point halftime advantage.

The talented Phillips squad made a run in the second, coming as close as four points before McDonell hit some timely shots, combined them with key stops, and held their opponent at arms length the rest of the way.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior guard Emily Cooper rained in five threes on the night as she scored a game-high 21 points, while junior center Aubrey Dorn, a double-double machine, was close behind with 17. Senior guard/forward Marley Hughes made key plays on both offense and defense and was the third Lady Macks player in double figures, tallying 11.

2/12/23 CVTW: The New Battle Facing the Pro-Life Movement Post-Roe

                                                                Chippewa Valley This Week

With the question of legalized abortion having been thrown back to the states with the overturning of Roe Vs. Wade, Wisconsin Right to Life Legislative & PAC Director, Gracie Skogman, addresses "The New Battle Facing the Pro-Life Movement Post-Roe." She says the focus is now on how individual state constitutions are being interpreted, elevating the significance of Wisconsin's April Supreme Court election, and on the increasing availability and risk of chemical abortions. Melinda Gardner of APPLE Pregnancy Care Center in Eau Claire also expresses her concern about chemical abortions and says she's providing post-abortion counseling for the first time to a woman who received such an abortion.
