Looking to start their tournament run on the right note, the Lady Macks (21-3, 12-2 Western Cloverbelt Conference) came out of the gate hot against the Buccaneers (3-20, 3-13 Marawood - North), who were overwhelmed early by McDonell's defense and only mustered 16 points in the first half.
In the second, the Lady Macks forced a running clock and were eventually able to get their entire playoff roster into the action in front of their home crowd.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior guard Lauryn Deetz was on fire in the first half as she poured in 19 of her game-high 25 points, while sophomore guard Emily Cooper kept pace with 15 before the break and ended her night with 21.
