Back on their home court for the first time in almost a month, the Lady Macks (8-3, 6-2 Western Cloverbelt Conference) came out of the gate with defensive intensity against the Railroaders (8-10, 4-7 WCC), who had reeled off four straight victories, including two successive takedowns of the top two teams in the conference.
Spurred offensively by hot shooting in the first half, McDonell kept up the defensive energy and never allowed Altoona to make it close in the second, battling their way through foul trouble and eventually rolling to an 18-point win.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior guard Anna Geissler showed once again why she is one of the best sharpshooters in D5, canning six threes in the first half and finishing with a game-high 25 points.
