9/27/24 Football: Chippewa Falls 54, Superior 27
The Cardinals (4-2, 2-2 Big Rivers Conference) turned in a tremendous team effort in downing Superior (0-6, 0-4) by a score of 54-27 in their annual Homecoming game.
The game featured some exciting and unique plays, like a 2nd quarter blocked punt run in for a TD by Chi-Hi senior Drake Daken. Also, later in that quarter, senior Ian Denning recovered a surprise onside kick in a full sprint and ran it in for the score.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Jackson LeMay ran for 88 yards and 2 TDs on 7 carries. Tyler Behnke had 7 carries for 68 yards and a TD. Jackson Boland ran 5 times for 61 yards and Gavin Shilts had 5 carries for 41 yards rushing.

9/20/24 Football: McDonell 22, Gilman 14
From the opening kickoff the 6th-ranked Macks (3-1, 2-1) played with a toughness and determination that carried them to a 22-14 Homecoming win over 2nd-ranked Gilman (3-1,2-1). The win was incredibly sweet for McDonell coming off their 31-point loss last Friday at Owen-Withee. Grant Smiskey threw 3 TD passes. David Anderson caught 2 TDs and had an interception.

9/20/24 Football: Rice Lake 47, Chi-Hi 30
On the road against one of the state's best, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (3-2, 1-2 Big Rivers Conference), fell behind early to the Warriors (5-0, 3-0 BRC), who controlled time of possession in the first half while also taking advantage of two costly Chi-Hi turnovers.
The second half was much more prolific offensively for the Cardinals, but a defense that saw a little too much action in the first two quarters was not able to slow the Rice Lake attack, as Chi-Hi could never quite get within striking distance of the Warriors juggernaut.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior QB Noah Potter shook off a first half interception and tossed three touchdown passes, while RB Jackson LeMay scored twice, once on the ground and once through the air, and also found the end zone on a pair of two-point conversions.

9/13/24 Football: Chi-Hi 35, River Falls 21
On the road for the first time in conference play, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (3-1, 1-1 Big Rivers Conference) were in a defensive struggle for most of the first half, before the the Wildcats (2-2, 1-1 BRC), scored the game's first points on an interception return for a touchdown.
After the break, both offenses came alive, and in a contest that looked like it could come down to whichever team possessed the ball last, Chi-Hi made the crucial plays necessary to come up with a stop and a score to seal it.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior RB Jackson LeMay scored twice, including on a sensational 59-yard, multiple-tackle-breaking romp, while senior RB and S Jackson Bohland notched his 7th TD of the year and effectively sealed the game with a clutch interception. Meanwhile, senior LBs Colton Petska and Drake Daken were all over the field once again, highlighting another strong Cardinal defensive performance.

9/6/24 Football: New Richmond 32, Chi-Hi 7
Back at home, this time for Veterans Night, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (2-1, 0-1 Big Rivers Conference - East) allowed an early scoring drive from the Tigers (3-0, 1-0 BRC), but after forcing a turnover on downs, took the ball down the field to knot the score at seven.
Unfortunately those were the only points of the night for the Cards, as they committed six turnovers and struggled to slow down a diverse and balanced New Richmond attack.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior RBs Jackson Bohland and Jackson LeMay made several impact plays on offense and special teams, while Senior S Simon Fish flew all over the field to make plays, including a big goal line interception to turn back a New Richmond drive.
