In a battle of Big Rivers unbeatens, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (3-1, 1-1 Big Rivers Conference) visited New Richmond for a big early season test.
The Tigers (4-0, 2-0 BRC) moved the ball down the field for an early score, but a key interception turning into 7 points helped the Cards stay within striking distance at the break.
There would be no scoring in the second half, however, as each defense came up with some crucial stops and Chi-Hi's final drive fell short.
Senior Tyler Behnke went over 100 yards for the second straight week to lead the Chi-Hi ground game.
