Back on their home court and looking to even the season series, the Macks (11-7, 4-4 Western Cloverbelt Conference) came out of the gate hot against the Blackhawks (10-4, 6-2 WCC), knocking down six first half threes and jumping out to a 13-point advantage at the break.
The conference co-leaders were not to be denied, though, as Bloomer evidenced heart and hustle throughout the second half, slowly but surely climbing back into the game before tying it up. Though both teams traded second half salvos, the Blackhawks proved a little stronger down the stretch, sweeping McDonell on the season and maintaining their place atop the standings.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior forward Karson Galvez scored from inside, outside, and at the line, leading the way for McDonell with 13 points. Senior guard Cooper Mittermeyer did his damage from behind the arc, knocking down four triples to finish with 12.
