Chippewa Valley This Week
In our opening segment we get a report from last week's Youth Advocacy Training of 135 middle and high school students from Eau Claire county. The students from 14 SAFE(Students Advocating for Excellence) groups participated in a day-long training about mental health, substance abuse prevention, and more. Eau Claire Memorial Junior, Andrew Mc Donald, and Eau Claire City-County Community Health Educator, Kate Torkelson, tell us about SAFE groups and the training.
We also hear from Rescued & Redeemed Co-Founder & Executive Director, Sali Bluse, about their 6th Annual Fundraising & Awareness Event, "Everlasting Hope," restoring lives impacted by sex trafficking being held Nov. 1st from 6-8:30pm at Calvary Baptist Church in Eau Claire.
Finally, Warren Petryk talks with us about his Nov. 9th 3pm concert at Spirit Lutheran church in Eau Claire. Billed as an evening of music celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas, there'll also be a special salute to our U.S. military veterans in honor of Veterans Day.
