11/18/25 Girls Basketball: Chippewa Falls 47, Merrill 39

 

The Lady Cards(1-0) scored the final six points of the half to go into the break tied at 15 with the Blue Jays. Then after falling behind 34-25 in the 2nd half Chippewa Falls turned up the heat with their full court press creating turnovers and easy baskets. This led to the Cards outscoring Merrill(0-1)22-5 the rest of the way en route to their 47-39 victory to start the season.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Jillian Wik scored 11 of her 12 points in the 2nd half, while Tenley Anderson added nine, and Emma Hoepner and MaKenna Wood chipped in eight a piece.

11/16/25 CVTW: 60 Ways in 60 Days; Red Cross Hero Awards

                                                                  Chippewa Valley This Week

 


Caleb Svendsen talks with Chippewa Falls Middle School Social Emotional Interventionist, Carly Rubenzer, about WWIB/WOGO's "60 Ways in 60 Days" campaign trying to match and exceed six-thousand dollars in donations for Feed My People Food Bank from generous area businesses. Also, Mark Halvorsen talks with Laura Mc Guire, Regional Communications Manager for the American Red Cross of the Wisconsin Region, about the nominations they're taking through the end of the year for their Northwest Heroes Breakfast in Eau Claire in March. Categories include Blood Services, Community Impact, Disaster Relief, Emergency Response/Health Care, Military, Red Cross(Good Samaritan), and Youth & Young Adult.

11/15/25 WIAA 8-Player Football State Championship: McDonell 22, Gilman 0

  In Mark Maloney's last game as the Macks(12-1) Head Coach his team avenged their only loss of the season in shutting out Gilman(12-1), 22-0, in the State Championship game in Wisconsin Rapids, winning their first WIAA State Football title. 

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Luke Anderson caught four passes for 71 yards and three TD's, along with catching two 2-point conversions, and was in on several big defensive plays. Cael Holm was 12 of 17 through the air for 176 yards and 3 TD's, giving him 25 for the year. Dawson Moulton carried the ball 32 times for 165 yards, while catching two passes for 27 yards. In addition to being named the Kelm Law Firm Defensive Player of the Game, Eli Stepp ran for 60 yards on 10 carries and also caught six passes for 78 yards.
