6/4/25 WIAA Division 1 Baseball Regional Semi-Final: #4 Chippewa Falls 11, #13 Marshfield 1

Chi High's(17-9-1) relentless offensive attack propelled them to an 11-1, five inning win over Marshfield(10-17) and into Thursday Regional Final vs. Menomonie. The Cardinals scored two runs in each of the first two innings, three in the third, and four more in the 4th on their way to their four-and-a-half inning win.

Despite walking in a run in a shaky third inning, sophomore lefty, Sam Bresina, was again impressive striking out five in the win.

6/2/25 WIAA Division 4 Softball Sectional Semi-Final: #4 McDonell Lady Macks 7, #2 Colfax 6

On the road once again, this time against the #2 seed, the Lady Macks (16-8, 8-4 Western Cloverbelt Conference) struck first, plating two in the opening inning, but the Vikings (16-8, 12-2 Dunn-St. Croix Conference), quickly cut that lead in half with a solo homer in the bottom of the first.

McDonell stretched their advantage to as many as five runs, but the powerful top of the order for Colfax would not be denied, and the home team clawed their way back within a run, before a drama-filled final inning in which the Lady Macks held off a final push from the Vikings.

Sophomore pitcher Kelsey Bremness went the distance, striking out 10, including two crucial Ks in the final frame, while fellow sophomore Claire Ruf went 4 for 4 at the plate. Sophomore Rylie Christianson was 3 for 4 on the night and made two incredible catches in center, while senior Kiara Leinenkugel tallied two hits.

6/2/25 WIAA Division 1 Softball Sectional Semi-Final: #1 D.C. Everest 2, Chippewa Falls 1(8 innings)

In a tremendous pitcher's duel between D.C. Everest (24-2) senior, Addison Kluck (11k's), and Chippewa Falls sophomore, Violet McIlquham (8k's), the Evergreens prevailed in 8 innings, 2-1.

After McIlquham retired the first 15 Evergreen batters in a row, the Lady Cards scored the game's first run in the top of the 6th on a Laney Henkelman two out double. However, in the bottom of the 6th a lead off walk led to Everest's first run of the game. Then, after the Cards weren't able to capitalize with bases loaded and one out in the 8th Everest did turn a lead off walk in the bottom of the 8th into the game winning run on a Sydney Spear sac fly.
