5/9/25 Softball: Stanley-Boyd 13, McDonell Lady Macks 3 (6 innings)

On a gorgeous May evening, the Lady Macks (9-6, 5-4 Western Cloverbelt Conference) headed west to face the Orioles (14-4, 6-4 WCC), trying to split the season series and stay in the running in the conference title chase.

Behind freshman pitcher Caitlen Ketterhagen, who struck out 11, the home team had other ideas, as they hit a trio of home runs and took advantage of defensive miscues to run-rule the Lady Macks.

Sophomore pitcher Kelsey Bremness battled her way through the game, striking out five and only issuing one walk. Sophomore catcher Lizzy Leibrandt drove in two and had a pair of base hits, and fellow sophomore Rylie Christianson went 3 for 3 on the night, including her fifth home run of the season.

5/8/25 Baseball: Chippewa Falls 4, Eau Claire North 3

The Cards(11-4-1, 5-3) completed their sweep of Eau Claire North(5-10, 3-4) downing the Huskies, 4-3, with a walk-off infield single from RF Gavin Thompson bringing home Brecken Boisvert.

Brady Smith went the distance giving up three runs and seven hits while striking out five in getting the win.

5/6/25 Baseball: McDonell Macks 14, Augusta 4 (6 innings)

Through the first four and a half innings on a beautiful Tuesday night at Casper, the Macks (7-5, 3-5 Western Cloverbelt Conference) battled the Beavers (2-8, 2-7 Large Dairyland Conference), with neither team able to pull away.

The floodgates opened in the bottom of the fifth, however, as McDonell plated 10 runs while sending 15 batters to the plate, cruising to their second run-rule victory in as many nights.

Senior Grant Smiskey had a huge day at the plate, including a pair of triples, and drove in three runs. Fellow senior David Andersen also collected three hits on the night, while junior Karson Galvez came to the mound in a relief appearance and ate up innings for the Macks, allowing just a single run.
