2/2/26 Basketball: Altoona 69, McDonell 54

Starting off another busy week, the Macks (9-9, 3-6 Western Cloverbelt Conference) made a short trip south to take on a former conference foe in the Railroaders (13-3, 6-2 Middle Border Conference).

Altoona rode a sensational first half shooting performance to an 18-point lead at the break, and though McDonell adjusted, they could never quite come within striking distance as the Rails avenged last season's loss.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior Nathan Hazel was strong throughout the contest, ending with a team-high 14 points, while senior forward Karson Galvez was close behind with 12. Senior Desian Matthews got the start and made the most of it, scoring 10 points.

1/30/26 Basketball: McDonell Lady Macks 45, Cadott 44

Hoping to bounce back after their first loss in over 2 months, the Lady Macks (15-3, 10-1 Western Cloverbelt Conference) could not pull away from the talented and revitalized Hornets (7-8, 3-5 WCC), who overtook McDonell late in the first half and held a two point lead going into the break.

Though the second frame was a seesaw affair, Cadott eventually built a two-possession lead and was in the double bonus, seemingly in prime position to pull off the upset. The Lady Macks didn't blink, however, and a little McDonell Magic in the waning moments secured the victory in a thriller.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior guard/forward Claire Ruf tallied 10 in each half and ended with a game-high 20 points, while junior forward Anne Siegenthaler hit several clutch shots and ended with 12. Junior guard Erin Siegenthaler battled foul trouble and didn't score until the final seconds - when she calmly hit the game-winning three.

1/29/26 Basketball: River Falls 64, Chippewa Falls 48

In contrast to their earlier game at River Falls(11-4, 7-1) where the Cards(3-13, 2-7) saw the Wildcats score the game's first 18 points, Chi High actually scored first in this one. However, after RF grabbed the lead at 5-4 they never trailed the rest of the game, outscoring CF 15-4 before the half to take a 33-20 lead at the break on their way to a 64-48 victory.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch: Owen Munson led the Cards with 17 points, while Connor Kolinski scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Grant Von Haden also chipped in with 8 points.
