                                                                Chippewa Valley This Week

Eau Claire Community Leaders unite to address homelessness with a new collaborative, "Housing-first, but not Housing-only" approach. We hear from Angela Weideman, Eau Claire county Human Services Director, Lieske Giese, Eau Claire City-County Health department Director, and David Minor, CEO of the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce. State Rep. Karen Hurd(R-Withee), just elected rep for the 69th Assembly District, discusses her new appointment to the powerful Joint Finance Committee and Rep.-elect Christian Phelps(D-Eau Claire), newly elected rep for the 93rd Assembly District talks about his top priorites as he goes to Madison. Eau Claire small business owner, Kate Felton, voices her concerns over the likely Trump tariffs and the chair of UWEC's Economics department, Thomas Kemp, weighs in on them. Finally, Gov. Tony Evers and his wife, Kathy, discuss mental health in this week's Democratic radio address, while State Senator Van Wanggaard(R-Racine) recaps the legislative session in the Republican radio address.

12/21/24 Basketball: McDonell Macks 65, Altoona 55

In a neutral site non-conference game at the Target Center in Minneapolis, the Macks (4-4, 0-1 Western Cloverbelt Conference) went back and forth for much of the first half with the Railroaders (2-3, 1-1 Middle Border Conference), before pulling out to a nearly double-digit lead by halftime.

After the break, the Macks again found their rhythm, extending the lead to 20+ points and withstanding aggressive Altoona pressure defense to notch a fourth victory on the season and get back to .500 heading into Christmas break.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior guard Cael Holm hit four threes in the second half and finished with a team-high 17 points, while junior forward Karson Galvez tallied all 12 of his points in a strong first half effort.
