On the road against a longtime rival, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (2-0, 0-0 Big Rivers Conference) looked to keep the momentum going after putting up 50 points in Week 1.
The Old Abes (0-2, 0-0 Wisconsin Valley Conference) struggled to move the ball for most of the night, as the Chi-Hi defense made life difficult, even as reserves started to filter into the game in the second half.
Offensively, despite a few drive-impairing penalties, the Cardinals' rushing game rolled once again, garnering 470+ yards on the ground for the second consecutive week.
Senior Gavin Shilts averaged over 22 yards per carry in an electric first half performance, including a 55-yard touchdown dash.
