A 4-run 4th inning was all Sun Prairie(23-3) needed to get by Chippewa Falls(25-6) at UW-Green Bay. Sun Prairie's freshman pitch, Tayler Baker, proved just too tough for the Chippewa Falls hitters who had shined so brightly all season long.
Still, the Cards are fired up about their future as everyone returns for next season.
Behind a stellar performance from the Cardinals defense, which turned a double play in each of the first two innings, and a 5-hit complete game from Junior pitcher, Hannah Aldrich, the young Cards(no seniors) defeated Milwaukee Hamilton 4-2 and moved on to face Sun Prairie in the afternoon's semi-final game at UW-Green Bay.
Designated player, Camryn Fjelstad, led the Cards at the plate with her three hits, two singles, a double, and an rbi.

Facing the 22-5 Hurley Northstars from the Indianhead Conference, the Lady Macks fell behind early, giving up three runs in the bottom of the first inning. After that, McDonell locked in defensively and never allowed another tally, but couldn't quite find the offense they needed, coming within a run but eventually falling to the talented Hurley squad.
The 22-6 Lady Macks capped off another phenomenal season, the first under Coach Rick Baier, and return a plethora of youthful talent next year!
The Cardinal Girls earned a trip to State with a 12-5 win over Marshfield at Casper Park in Chippewa Falls.
The 24-5 Cards were powered by freshmen Outfielders Paige Steinmetz and Olivia Sanborn who went a combined 8 for 8 at the plate, which included Steinmetz' 2-run homer. Sophomore First Baseman, Madyson Baker, also hit a 3-run HR in helping CF advance to Monday's quarterfinals in Green Bay.
First-year Head Coach Rick Baier's Lady Macks broke the game open with six runs in the 5th inning on their way to a 12-3 win over Thorp. Maggie Craker pitched McDonell to their 18th straight victory and third win over Thorp this season.
The 22-5 Macks now move on to face the Hurley Northstars in a 4pm game June 23rd in Athens, WI, which will be heard on 103.1FM and WOGO.com.
