2/27/18 WIAA D5 Regional Quarterfinal: (3) McDonell Macks 71, (14) Cornell 49
In their playoff opener, the Macks (13-10, 9-5 Western Cloverbelt Conference) worked their way through a few miscues against the scrappy Chieftains (7-14, 5-7 East Lakeland), but eventually throttled up to full speed and rolled their way to the next round.

2/24/18 WIAA D5 Basketball Regional Final: (3) McDonell Lady Macks 49, (2) Rib Lake 38
In a Regional Final battle of state-ranked squads, the Lady Macks (20-5, 11-3 Western Cloverbelt Conference) absorbed the stiff opening salvo from the Redmen (20-4, 14-2 Marawood North), stormed back into the contest from that nine-point deficit, and never looked back.

Playoff Basketball: 2/23/18 Chi Hi 56-Appleton West 53
In the regional semifinal on Friday night in Chippewa Falls, the Cardinals welcomed the Terrors of Appleton west in an 8/9 matchup. The Terrors showed the meant business, opening up an 8 point lead at the half on the road with 8 different players scoring in the first half.
In the second half, Appleton West's lead grew further, all the way to a 16 point advantage with under 9 minutes to play. From there, a heroic effort from the Cardinals to close the second half resulted in an incredible comeback in front of a frenzied home crowd to secure a spectacular 3 point victory to advance to the regional final.

Sophomore Caelan Givens led all scorers with 23 points, including going 9-13 from the foul line as she drew fouls and knocked down free throws all night. Sophomore Aaliyah McMillan was dominant down the stretch, forcing turnovers, grabbing rebounds, and hitting the go ahead corner 3 with under a minute to play to put the Cardinals ahead for good.
