Chippewa Valley This Week
Marshfield(18-8) scored three runs in the top of the first and tallied runs in five of the game's six innings on their way to an 11-0 six inning win over Chippewa Falls(19-9).
Chippewa Falls(19-8) advanced to the Division 1 Sectional Final with a 5-2 win over Holmen(18-9). Laney Henkelman's rbi single scored Georgia Romanowski giving the Cards a 1-0 lead in the third. Chi High plated two more in the fifth and sixth.
Meanwhile Willa Risinger struck out ten in 6 2/3 innings and Delany Bero secured the save by striking out Holmen's Kaylee Mosser with two runners on to end the game.

Willa Risinger got the win and the game-winning two-run homer as the Cards(18-8) won 12-0 and advanced to Tuesday's Sectional semi-final. Risinger and Delaney Bero combined on a five-inning, one-hitter in shutting out New Richmond(12-10).
Risinger, who struck out five, only allowed a single in the first. Bero retired the only three batters she faced in the 5th, including getting a strikeout to close out the game.
Squaring off against Regis for the third time this season, the Lady Macks (19-6-1, 12-2 Western Cloverbelt Conference) took advantage of early miscues by the Ramblers (1-17, 0-14 WCC), and jumped out to a lead they would hold for good.
Ella Amodt's took advantage of an error for an inside-the-park homer that scored three, and Claire Ruf hit a three-run shot in the second.
Junior pitcher Kelsey Bremness struck out four with no walks, looking calm and controlled despite the heat.
The five runs the Cards(20-3, 9-2) put up in the third proved to be all they needed in downing Menomonie(10-12. 4-8), 5-2, to win their 13th game in a row.
Sam Bresina pitched possibly his best game of the season in striking out five and walking none over 6 1/3 innings before Evan Weiler came in to get the final two outs and secure the save.
In their conference finale, the Lady Cards (17-7, 13-1 Big Rivers Conference) surrendered two leads to the young and talented Huskies (12-11, 5-9 BRC), who twice came back to tie, but Chi-Hi scored a late run in the 6th and shut the door in the 7th to garner the win and season sweep.
Senior pitcher Willa Risinger capped off the win with two strong innings of relief. Junior third baseman McKenna Benish went 3-for-3 on the night, while junior DP Laney Henkelmann and senior catcher Lauren Shepherd each picked up a pair of hits, with Henkelmann driving in two and Shepherd bringing in the winning run.
Some clutch hitting in the 6th and stellar defense in the bottom of the 7th, combined with the 10-strikeout pitching of Willa Risinger, propelled the Chippewa Falls(16-7, 12-1) to a 4-1 win over Eau Claire North(9-9, 5-7) and their 19th Big Rivers conference championship in the past 27 years.
