1/8/26 Basketball: McDonell Lady Macks 46, Elk Mound 44

After over a week off, the Lady Macks (10-2, 6-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) found themselves in a battle for first place in the conference with the Mounders (8-4, 4-2 WCC), who came into the contest having won three of their last four games.

McDonell saw an early lead slip away right before the half, and in the second Elk Mound came close to pulling away. The Lady Macks stayed strong, however, hitting multiple big shots while continuing to play aggressive defense. A last-second defensive stand proved to be the difference, as McDonell notched their tenth consecutive victory.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior guard/forward Claire Ruf hit a trio of threes and finished with with 13 points, while fellow juniors Anne and Erin Siegenthaler scored eight apiece. Junior Kelsey Bremness played stellar defense and added seven points of her own, as eight different players scored for McDonell.

1/2/26 Basketball: McDonell Macks 66, Bloomer 45

Playing their third game of the week, the Macks (6-2, 2-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) started out with a great defensive effort, as they scored the game's first 16 points and put the Blackhawks (0-6, 0-3 WCC) back on their heels.

Bloomer responded and came within single digits at the half, then within six after the break, but timely shooting and a strong performance in the paint by their front line proved the difference, as McDonell pulled away to remain unbeaten in conference play.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Junior guard/forward Nathan Hazel put in the work all night and it finally started to pay off in the second half, as his effort at both ends of the floor led to a game-high 15 points. Fellow junior Brennan Loiselle-Christianson tallied all 12 of his points in the second half, senior Karson Galvez had a balanced effort throughout and scored 12 as well, while senior Mason Busse patrolled the paint the notched 10 points of his own.
