In their home opener, the Lady Macks (1-2, 0-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) got off to a hot start, scoring the first 10 points and setting the Hilltoppers (2-1, 0-0 Mississippi Valley Conference) back on their heels.
The visitors responded, however, cutting the deficit to a single basket in the second half, before McDonell caused key turnovers to create some separation, leading to their first win of the 2025-26 season.
