9/12/25 Football: River Falls 28, Chippewa Falls 12

After falling behind 6-0 after the Wildcats(4-0, 3-0) 14-play TD drive to start the game, the Cards(1-3, 1-2) responded with a terrific drive of their own culminated by a Jaylyn Smith one yard TD run with 2:21 left in the first quarter, tying the game at 6. Later, Sr. LB, Collin Clary, helped lead the way in stopping a River Falls 4th and 1 from the CF 6 yard line, and before the half Tyler Behnke's two yard TD run put the Cards up 12-6 at halftime.

However, the 2nd half belonged to the Wildcats as they mixed run and pass very well on their way to scoring 3 TD's and winning the game 28-12

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Jaylyn Smith had another big night running for 60 yards on 12 carries, including a 1-yard TD run, and catching 5 passes for 98 yards. Tyler Behnke also ran for a TD in addition to running for 69 yards on 14 carries.

9/11/25 Football: McDonell 39, Owen-Withee 0

Hosting the defending state champions, the McDonell Macks (4-0, 3-0 North Central - East Conference) were pushed back a bit by the opening Owen-Withee drive, which chewed up nearly half of the first quarter, but after a key stop the Macks immediately drove for the game's opening score and built a four score advantage at the break.

The Blackhawks (2-2, 1-2) refused to go quietly, but could not keep pace with the Macks' balanced offensive game plan and relentless, attacking defense. McDonell worked their way to a running clock and clamped down with key turnovers to preserve the shutout victory.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior RB/LB Desian Matthews came alive in the running game, piling up yardage in chunks while also playing a key role on defense. Senior LB Eli Stepp was all over the field on D, and senior QB Cael Holm and junior WR Luke Andersen combined for a trio of touchdowns.

9/5/25 Football: New Richmond 42, Chi-Hi 14

On the road against the defending Big Rivers champs, the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (1-2, 0-1 Big Rivers Conference) overcame an early 14-0 deficit, marching toward a potential tying touchdown at the end of the first half.

The defense of the Tigers (3-0, 1-0 BRC), however, was up to the challenge, halting the Cards' in the red zone to preserve the lead, and then garnering two fumble recoveries early in the second half, leading to 14 unanswered points and propelling New Richmond to a home victory.

WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
Senior Jaylyn Smith piled up the all-purpose yards as he continued to make plays in all three phases of the game, including a 55-yard romp for a touchdown and an absolute circus catch down the sideline.
