3/12/26 Basketball: WIAA Division 4 Sectional Semi-Final: #2 Clear Lake 78, #4 McDonell Macks 62
On the road at Amery for a neutral site Sectional matchup, the Macks (14-14, 5-9 Western Cloverbelt Conference) didn't get the fast start they were looking for, as the Warriors (20-7, 11-5 Dunn-St. Croix Conference), quickly scored the first five points of the contest.
McDonell responded and even took a two-possession lead of their own for a brief while, but Clear Lake regained a 4-point lead right before the half and never trailed again, as they steadily pulled away down the stretch.
WOGO "RadioActive" Award Watch:
In his final game in a McDonell uniform, Karson Galvez led the way for the Macks with 16 points, including 12 in the second half. Junior Nathan Hazel added 13 on the night, while senior Eli Stepp played another strong all-around game and finished with 12, and junior Brennan Loiselle-Christianson was the fourth McDonell player in double-digits, ending with 10 points.
