After over a week off, the Lady Macks (10-2, 6-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) found themselves in a battle for first place in the conference with the Mounders (8-4, 4-2 WCC), who came into the contest having won three of their last four games.
McDonell saw an early lead slip away right before the half, and in the second Elk Mound came close to pulling away. The Lady Macks stayed strong, however, hitting multiple big shots while continuing to play aggressive defense. A last-second defensive stand proved to be the difference, as McDonell notched their tenth consecutive victory.

Chippewa Valley This Week
Playing their third game of the week, the Macks (6-2, 2-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) started out with a great defensive effort, as they scored the game's first 16 points and put the Blackhawks (0-6, 0-3 WCC) back on their heels.
Bloomer responded and came within single digits at the half, then within six after the break, but timely shooting and a strong performance in the paint by their front line proved the difference, as McDonell pulled away to remain unbeaten in conference play.
