12/2/23 Basketball: McDonell Lady Macks 54, Colfax 42
On the road against one of last year's Division 4 state qualifiers, the Lady Macks (3-0, 0-0 Western Cloverbelt Conference) stood tall against the harrying defense of the Vikings (2-3, 0-0 Dunn-St. Croix), and held a seven point advantage at the break.
In the second half, the Lady Macks withstood a Colfax run that whittled their once double-digit lead down to just four points, then began to steadily pull away, taking full advantage of Vikings' fouls with 20 made free throws and notching their third victory of the young season.
12/2/23 Boys Basketball: Chippewa Falls-81 Medford-70
The Cardinals(1-1) expanded a 48-32 halftime lead to a 19-point advantage at 60-41 before Medford outscored them 25-8 in drawing within 68-66. Chi High then outscored the Raiders 13-4 down the stretch in winning, 81-70.
