5/25/23 WIAA Div. 1 Softball Regional Final: (3) Chippewa Falls-8 vs. (6) New Richmond-4

A two-run homer from Third Baseman, Madison Bauer, in the bottom of the first inning gave the Cards (21-5) an early lead that they never relinquished. Chippewa Falls added four runs in the second upping their lead to 6-0, three of which came on a clutch hit from Paige Steinmetz. Second Baseman, Mykle Buhrow, doubled in the Cards' seventh run in the third before New Richmond(12-7) got on the scoreboard in the fourth on a Brier Blietz solo homer.

Junior pitcher, Lakken Mc Eathron, turned in a solid performance as Chi High did what they needed to in advancing to Sectionals with an 8-4 win.

5/25/23 WIAA Division 5 Softball Regional Final: (1) McDonell Lady Macks 10, (4) Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran 0 (6 inn)

In a rematch of last year's Regional Final, but this time on their home diamond, the Lady Macks (17-6, 11-3 Western Cloverbelt Conference) plated an opening inning run against the Lancers (14-6,12-5 Dairyland Conference), but were held scoreless in the second.

Though it looked like a pitchers' duel might ensue, in the bottom of the third the Lady Macks broke through with 4 runs and never looked back, ending the game early via a Josie Witkowski two-run double, and advancing to the Sectional Semi-Final.

Senior Becca Baier went 3-4 at the plate with 3 RBI, junior Morgan Wirtz was 2-3 with a base on balls and 3 RBI of her own, and junior Aubrey Dorn clobbered a two-run homer on her birthday to help put the game out of reach. In the circle, junior pitcher Katie Ruf was nothing short of brilliant, striking out twelve in a scintillating performance.
